What Happened On Tuesday Across The National League

Some important results were secured tonight as Tamworth took a huge step towards promotion - without even playing.

In the National League the eye catching returns were down the bottom as some vital wins were earned.

Woking left it late again to deflate relegation rivals Kidderminster and set off their survival mission. Charley Kendall’s 90th minute winner raised the roof - and lifted the Cards out of the bottom four.

York City are in it up to their necks after another home no show. AFC Fylde, another side in trouble, left with three points - Joe Westley, Ashley Hunter and Jon Ustabasi inflicted a second home defeat in four days.

Wealdstone took a point home from Southend but it could have been more, Roots Hall erupted when Henry Sandat levelled very late on.

Dorking Wanderers suffered defeat at Altrincham, who ended this terrible run. Regan Linney scored before being sent off.

Solihull Moors got one over Gateshead in a big play-off battle. Jack Stevens’ double earned a big win in the North East.

Oldham Athletic want home Eliminator advantage but dropped more home points, Bromley left with a 0-0 draw.

Callum Stead scored twice as Barnet moved above them into second, Rochdale’s play-off hopes fading by the game.

It looks like Tamworth will be joining the party as nearest challengers Scunthorpe United folded at Darlington.

A 4-0 defeat leaves the Quakers with every chance of escaping the drop - Cameron Salkeld scored twice to leave the Iron 12 points behind.

Alex Babos got two as Hereford defeated Peterborough Sports 4-1. Rushall won the big game at Banbury United 2-1, an Owen Oseni penalty the difference between the strugglers.

Bishop’s Stortford’s race is nearly run, Chorley left with a 4-1 win as Southport put on a stunning show to leave Warrington with a 3-0 victory.

Spennymoor Town seem back in the play-off race after coming from behind to defeat Alfreton 2-1. Danny Greenfield grabbed the winner on the hour.

In the National League South, it was a tough day for the sides down the bottom.

Welling United lost 1-0 at Farnborough, Aaron Kuhl hit the only goal in the first half. Eastbourne couldn’t take advantage - Mason Bloomfield scored a very late winner for Hampton at the Beveree.

Maidstone United and Bath City played out a thriller and showed why they could be a promotion threat. It ended 2-2 at the Gallagher Stadium.

Rex Mannings was the Weston-super-Mare hero as they left Chippenham with a valuable 1-0 victory.
