There was plenty to keep us warm as the big chill continues to bite.

The cold snap may have caused a number of postponements but the games that escaped Mother Nature provided plenty of talking points.

John Rooney’s late penalty was saved by Mitch Walker as Stockport County miss the chance to up the heat on leaders Torquay United.

Simon Rusk’s side drew 0-0 at home to Aldershot Town - and couldn’t make their opportunities count at Edgeley Park.

Sutton United did take their chances and rise to second.

Louis John and Will Randall found the net as Matt Gray’s men continued their wonderful season by defeating Boreham Wood 2-0.

Yeovil picked up an impressive three points at home to Altrincham.

Rhys Murphy and Chris Dagnall did the damage for Darren Sarll’s side at Huish Park.

Gloucester City missed the chance to stretch their legs at the top of the National League North as all their rivals put their feet up, pictured.

The Tigers took the lead at home to Chorley thanks to debutant Gold Omotayo but the Magpies swooped for a point through Elliot Newby.

Dorking Wanderers were in deadly form - and are sitting pretty at the top of the National League South.

The rolled over Welling United 5-0 and opened the scoring through Alfie Rutherford.

Nick Wheeler then got in on the act before Jason Prior made it safe. The gloss was added from James McShane and Matt Briggs.

Oxford City are in great form an out Chelmsford City to the sword 4-1.

James Roberts and Harvey Bradbury both scored twice in another fine win.

Ebbsfleet United are starting to look at part under their new manager and debutant Dom Poleon grabbed the winner as Fleet won 2-1 at Havant, who have now lost four in a row.

James Blanchfield rescued a point for Concord Rangers in the 89th minute as Danny Scopes’ side bit back at Eastbourne late on.
