What Happened In The National League South On Saturday?

By Tom Scott

A mind-boggling 38 goals were bagged in the National League South this afternoon as the screw was turned at both ends.

Hampton & Richmond are on the charge and made light work of leaders Wealdstone at the Beveree.

Danilo Orsi-Dadomo and Jake Gray both hit second-half goals to make it three home wins in four for the Beavers.

Looking to close the gap on the Stones were Slough and Havant & Waterlooville who both picked up big wins.

Warren Harris' goal for broke the deadlock for the Rebels against Chippenham Town before Max Worsfold and Matt Lench made the win secure.

Havant did it the hard way against Bath - trailing the game for over 40 minutes before Alfie Rutherford levelled things. Danny Kedwell's penalty wrapped it up.

The standout result of the day was Oxford City's mauling of shell-shocked Chelmsford.

A Danny Rowe hat-trick set them on their way before Josh Ashby, Kyran Lofthouse and Zac McEachran added the finishing touches.

Remarkably, City weren't the only side to hit six on the day.

Welling gave new Braintree boss Jake Hutchings a tough start to life in the dugout - the Iron were 4-1 down at half-time.

Korrey Henry ended up with four goals for the Wings after Theo Widdrington broke the deadlock.

At the bottom, Eastbourne Borough won a crucial clash between them and fellow strugglers Hungerford Town courtesy of a Dean Cox strike just after the hour mark.

Concord and Dorking certainly know how to entertain, sharing the spoils after a six-goal thriller.

Goals from Jack Barham, James McShane and Tom Richards looked to have Wanderers on their way but the Beachboys pegged with Joel Nouble equalising from the spot in the dying embers.

Elsewhere, Dartford left it late to snatch a point against Maidstone.

Having been two down in the 86th minute, goals from Tom Bonner and Darren McQueen rescued something for the Darts.

Tonbridge won another crucial game of two of the division's strugglers as they overcame St Albans.

Khale Da Costa hit the second for the home side against his former club before Zane Banton set up a nervy finish.

Jake Robinson scored the winner for Billericay in their narrow win over Dulwich Hamlet.

Saturday's National League South final scores:
Chelmsford City 2-6 Oxford City
Chippenham Town 0-3 Slough
Concord Rangers 3-3 Dorking Wanderers

Dulwich Hamlet 0-2 Billericay
