What Happened In The National League South On Saturday?

By Sam Elliott

It was a day of frustration at the top of the National League South - and not because of dropped points.

First, floodlight issues as kick off approached means leaders Wealdstone’s home game with Eastbourne Borough couldn’t start.

Havant & Waterlooville’s game with second place Slough Town did - but it couldn’t be finished.

It means Jon Underwood and Neil Baker must wait for their 500th game as joint managers.

The game was abandoned in the second half with the Hawks, in third, 2-0 ahead and ready to up the heat on those above them.

Weymouth stormed into second place because of those problems.

The Terras won 2-1 at home to Hampton as Josh McQuoid and Ben Thomson goals made it nine unbeaten for Mark Molesey’s men.

Hemel Hempstead couldn’t take advantage of other’s in-activity.

They slipped to a 3-0 home defeat to managerless Braintree Town and are down to sixth.

That’s because Bath City jumped ahead of them after they found their form in in front of goal to beat Concord Rangers 3-1.

Noah Chilvers, Adam Mann and Tom Smith all scored for Jerry Gill’s Romans.

Chelmsford City struck back to deny Dorking Wanderers - a week after they begged back leaders Wealdstone.

It ended 2-2 as Shaun Jeffers grabbed a well deserved equaliser for the Clarets.

National League South scores:
Bath City 3-1 Concord Rangers
Chelmsford City 2-2 Dorking Wanderers
Havant & W A-A Slough Town
