What Happened In The National League North On Saturday?

By Tom Scott

You'd be mad to call the play-off race in the National League North just yet. It's been another Saturday of shocks and big wins.

King's Lynn continued their incredible run of form at home with a fine win over Blyth Spartans.

Chris Henderson and Michael Gash had the Linnets ahead at the break before Adam Marriott struck goal number 21 of the season.

York fell further behind the leaders with a goalless draw with Kettering Town.

Bradford (Park Avenue) provided perhaps the shock of the day by beating Altrincham.

Mark Bower's side picked up their first home win since October courtesy of goals from Tom Clare and Oli Johnson.

Brackley Town are keeping up the pace - Wes York and Lee Ndlovu helped the Saints past Guiseley.

Farsley Celtic are also well in the play-off race after Akeel Francis and Will Hayhurst put AFC Telford to the sword.

Joshua Kayode put himself onto six for the season as Gateshead ran out winners against Alfreton Town, 3-1 it ended.

Chester failed to capitalise on York dropping points as they went down 2-0 against Darlington.

Southport, however, went level on point with the Blues with narrow win over Gloucester - Bradley Bauress with the only goal for the Port.

Boston United piled on the misery for Kidderminster Harriers.

Jason Thewlis, Dom Knowles and Jordan Wafula's goals mean the managerless Harries have won just once since late September.

Leamington led against Spennymoor Town before slipping behind. But a late penalty from Josh March meant the points were shared.

Elsewhere, Curzon Ashton are now five without defeat after beating Hereford, 2-0 it finished after goals from Sean Miller and Charlie Jolley.

Saturday's National League North final scores:
AFC Telford United 0-2 Farsley Celtic
Bradford (Park Avenue) 2-0 Altrincham
Curzon Ashton 2-0 Hereford
Darlington 2-0 Chester
Gateshead 3-1 Alfreon Town
Guiseley 0-2 Brackley Town
Kettering Town 0-0 York City
Kidderminster Harriers 1-3 Boston United
King's Lynn Town 3-0 Blyth Spartans
