Weymouth Go For Wilkinson As It’s Out With The Oldfield

Bobby Wilkinson has been named the new Weymouth manager after the club decided to make a change.

The Terras parted company with David Oldfield last night following Tuesday’s defeat at Bath City.

The Dorset club have started the new season poorly after relegation - they are bottom of the National League South with two points from eight matches.

The club acted quickly to get the new man in.

Wilkinson has done a fantastic job at Bracknell Town and the former Wealdstone and Hungerford boss says he can’t wait to get down to work.

A statement today confirmed the changes have been made.

“We can this morning announce that Bobby Wilkinson has agreed to take the position of First Team Manager with immediate effect,” it read.

“We are delighted to welcome Bobby to Weymouth Football Club. Bobby shares the club’s same passion and drive to take the club forward.

“Joining Bobby at the club will be Mike Percival, who will be his assistant.

“The pair will take over with immediate effect and will be taking training this morning.”
