Wembley Edges Ever Closer As FA Trophy Draw Is Made

By Sam Elliott

Wembley is getting closer and closer - and now the draw for the FA Trophy quarter-finals has been made.

The Arch is coming into the eye sight of the final eight and with the big hitters all out, it’s anyone’s to win once again.

The teams still standing are all National League sides - and the excitement is building.

The quarter-finals take place in the first week of March and we have just one Step 2 side still going strong.

Farsley Celtic head to Gateshead but know the minnows just love this competition.

The rest are all National League ties and Barnet will be desperate for a big day.

But they got to Maidstone United, who thrashed Eastleigh 4-0 on Saturday.

York City and Altrincham are also paired up, with Aldershot Town hosting FC Halifax Town in the other game.

The Shots thrashed the Shaymen 5-1 back in September so it could be a revenge mission!

The draw in full:
Gateshead vs Farsley Celtic
Maidstone United vs Barnet
York City vs Altrincham
Aldershot Town vs FC Halifax Town
