Weavers Hopes His Harrogate Side Have Made A Statement

Harrogate Town winning at two of the National League’s top three recently shows that their belief is growing at the perfect time.

That is according to manager Simon Weaver, who thinks wins at Yeovil on Saturday and at leaders FC Halifax are proving the club now mean business.

After a slow start they have come alive and Town now sit in eighth thanks to four wins in their last five matches.

In-form Harrogate have climbed to eighth and haven’t lost in seven.

“We came into the lions’ den and we put in a performance full of passion,” he told the club’s media channel after the 2-1 win at Huish Park.

“We were lacking last season against the top teams and that makes it all the more pleasing.

“The fitness levels have been immense since pre-season and it allows us to press like we did for the second goal. We were aggressive.

“I hope we have shown that we can go anywhere and perform.

“It’s a nice little run we’re on now and hopefully that gives us the belief that we can go forward. It’s four wins and three draws now - it should give us the confidence to keep growing in stature and getting better.”
