Watson: System Shows We Can Compete

Gateshead boss Steve Watson says his side's draw with Wrexham showed the progress they are making.

A 0-0 draw meant Gateshead's unbeaten run extended to six matches in all competitions, writes Tom Feaheny.

"The system worked, we kept a clean sheet against a tough side and we dominated at least 75 minutes of the game," Watson told the club's website.

"We got in good positions, we had at least 12 chances in the second-half.

"The system shows we can compete against the best teams in the league, we have to now build on this.

"I took positives from all of it, our fitness looks great and we kept going."
