Watson: Heed Belief Is Growing Game By Game

Gateshead boss Steve Watson says his side are feeling confident ahead of facing Chester.

A long-trip to Boreham Wood during mid-week was more than worth it with a 2-1 win secured in the FA Trophy, they now aim to climb the league table, writes Tom Feaheny.

The Heed are currently 18th in the table and only six points off Chester.

"We have to take something from the Boreham Wood win, they have some of the best players in the league and we want to feel confident ahead of facing Chester," Watson told the club's website.

"We were clinical in the FA Trophy match and that is something that we have worked on and will continue to do so.

"The belief is there for the lads and we want to get the win and use that momentum to climb the table."
