‘Sports News’: Eastbourne Borough 6 v 0 AFC Uckfield Town - Susses Senior Cup

Here is a report on the Sussex Senior Cup match between Eastbourne Borough and AFC Uckfield Town. After a disappointing result against Poole Town in the Vanarama National League, South, the ‘Sports’ were swiftly back in action: this time in the Sussex Senior Cup against AFC Uckfield Town. When it comes to the cup it’s eleven men against eleven. So even though Eastbourne were well favourites on paper, a job still had to be done as the 'Oakmen' were hoping to cash in on any hangover from the Poole match to cause a cup shock! As it turned out, Eastbourne finished comfortable winners, with a couple of great goals amongst the six they scored. But credit to Uckfield as they never let their heads drop and tried to play football to the end instead of collapsing and allowing the ‘Sports’ to pile-up a cricket score.
