0-1 Dorchester By Stefan Baisden.fcp

Magpies 0 Dorchester 1 by Charles Watts A first half goal from Rico Wilson gave Alan Knight a win in his first game in charge of Dorchester Town as they saw off struggling Maidenhead United 1-0 at York Road this afternoon. Wilson finished off a decent move from the visitors with a fine finish on 19 minutes, one of the few moments of quality in what was otherwise an awful affair. The hosts, woefully short of confidence, offered little throughout while Dorchester were only marginally better during a contest which featured few goalmouth incidents. Neither side created much in the early stages although Mark Nisbet, on his return to the side, did fizz a fine effort just past the top corner for United on 18 minutes. Wilson's crisp strike from just inside the box gave Dorchester the lead moments later and only a fine save from Billy Lumley prevented them going into the break 2-0 in front following a free-kick. Maidenhead improved after the interval but rarely troubled the visitors' goal, Leon Solomon's shot which went wide on 49 minutes one of few incidents of note. Ben Dickenson wasted a great chance to double Dorchester's lead with a glancing header from Steve Devlin's free-kick on 56 minutes but his side held on for the points, despite a late scare when Manny Williams fired over for United in injury time. Maidenhead: Lumley, McKain, Solomon, Brown, Saroya, Nisbet, Tison-Lascaris (Powell, 61), Hendry (Hinds, 61), Wall, Williams, Worsfold (Behzadi, 79). Unused subs: Rose, Clement.
