Vanarama's National League fan preview - Ebbsfleet United

Ebbsfleet follower Steve Boem gives us the lowdown on how his side are shaping up.

League sponsors Vanarama have been getting the fans’ perspective ahead of the new season - which kicks off this Saturday.

The new season is nearly upon us - what have Ebbsfleet fans got to look forward to?
With virtually a new squad, Garry has bought in a wealth of experience - so hopefully a competitive team battling against the odds.

Things have changed this summer and some big players have moved on - which one was most difficult to say goodbye to?
I think the most difficult goodbye was to Sam Magri, a quality and solid defender.

One man has stayed. Garry Hill is still in charge, just how crucial is that?
Very crucial, because I believe if Garry had left then there may not have been an Ebbsfleet United this season.

What’s been the best bit of business done over the past few months?
Alex Lawless. A quality player and proven winner at this level.

Who are the other sides to watch out for and could be in the promotion mix?
Bromley, Stockport and Dover - they have added quality to their squads.

And who is going to be the National League’s surprise package?
IIn my opinion I think Bromley will be a surprise package this season, also I have to say Ebbsfleet United. We will go under the radar.

We all love away days. What ground are you most looking forward to visiting?
Stockport County, it’s another ground I’ve never seen or been too.

And what game would you like to win more than any other and why?
It has to be Bromley or Dover. Kent bragging rights the next day are a big thing!

What opposition player would you most like to see in your side - and what makes him so good?
Chris Bush, ex-Ebbsfleet United of course and now at Bromley. A very solid defender with an Exocet of a throw in.

Finally, the really important question - where do you predict your team will finish next season?
Because of the major rebuild, I believe a top ten finish would sit well with the fans.

Vanarama have recently launched the National League Club Reward scheme to help fans back their club’s budget. Every time a fan takes out a brand new van lease with Vanarama or a brand new car lease with Motorama their club will earn £100 and you will receive £30 cashback.
