By Sam Elliott

The National League North and South are about to swing back into action - and there’s plenty of eye-catching games coming up.

The FA Cup took centre stage last week, but now it’s all about playing for precious points.

It won’t be long before the clocks go back and for the long winter sets in, so who will be giving the rest the cold shoulder in the promotion race?

Every week, new betting partner Unibet will run the rule over the weekend’s main matches in the division.

Spennymoor v Curzon Ashton - National League North

Two sides who have made strong starts meet - but the build-up to the game has been dominated by one club.

Curzon parted company with manager Steve Cunningham on Monday - despite him winning Manager of the Month seven days earlier.

Craig Mahon is in interim charge and will enhance his job prospects with a win.

But it won’t be easy against a Spennymoor side who look the real deal this season.

They have won the last four National League North matches and are playing with style. In that time they have scored 11 goals, and they are up to third.

Moors can really up the heat on Brackley and AFC Fylde with a fifth win on the spin.

Maidstone United vs Dorking Wanderers - National League South

If you would have asked who would be sitting within touching distance of the top out of these two three months ago, not many would have got it right.

Dorking Wanderers, top when last season was curtailed, have flattered to deceive this time around. On Tuesday they exited the FA Cup, too.

Maidstone United, who in the past few years have fallen short, are having their best season in a long time.

Only leaders Dartford’s flying start has kept them pegged back as Hakan Hayrettin says a changing room built on trust is keeping the Stones on their rivals’ coat-tails.

Dorking manager Marc White hasn’t lost confidence.

A 4-1 win over Bath City, he feels, could be a turning point to their league season. If results go their way, they could be back in the play-off pack come 5pm on Saturday.

It’s sure to be an electric weekend!
