Unibet's Vanarama National League Matchday 7 Preview

By Tom Scott

If you’ve looked away for even a split second so far you will have missed a heap of Vanarama National League action already this season.

Another matchday is in sight and it can’t come soon enough!

An eye-catching midweek programme did little to separate the men from the boys as we edge closer to the first month marker.

Every week, new betting partner Unibet will run the rule over the main matches in the two divisions.

All your odds across the Vanarama National League are available at Unibet.

Weymouth v Dover Athletic

BT Sport are in town for this one with both sides looking to put on a spectacle for the cameras.

Dover will be desperate to finally get going as Weymouth eye a result that could stabilise their decent early form.

Brian Stock’s plucky Terras have been the thorn in the side of a few fancied teams already this season but came unstuck at leaders Dagenham & Redbridge midweek.

Andy Hessenthaler’s men were always going to be fighting with one arm tied behind their back this season and have struggled to recoup much of their points deficit – but they managed a draw against fancied Chesterfield, so they’ve got it in them!

One to watch: Bradley Ash (Weymouth)
Unibet enhanced odds: Weymouth half-time and full time

Wrexham v Dagenham & Redbridge

Wrexham’s Hollywood inspired bounce was jilted slightly in midweek against Grimsby, but they will be looking to make a statement against the Daggers.

Daryl McMahon’s side were made to work midweek against Weymouth but showed their mettle to cling on to top spot and stand to be shot at.

Both meetings last season ended in a draw which might be something both managers would shake hands on before this one gets underway.

Phil Parkinson has been well backed by his sides new owners who won’t want to hang around in the division any longer than they have to.

But Dagenham & Redbridge fans will be wondering what might be if they can come away from the Racecourse with all three points – it’s going to make good viewing either way!

One to watch: Paul McCallum (Dagenham & Redbridge)
Unibet enhanced odds: Both teams to score

FC Halifax Town v Stockport County

It goes without saying Simon Rusk will have wanted more points on the board with his much-fancied Stockport side.

If last season’s play-off heartbreak hurt – one win from their last four games might have temporarily quelled the palpable pre-season expectation.

But a solid win at Maidenhead midweek might have finally got things going for the Hatters who head to a Halifax side that have proved a tough nut to crack so far.

That’s not saying Pete Wild’s side don’t have their faults. But they always seem to find a way – and with Billy Waters in fine fettle few would fancy a date with them right now.

A draw at Boreham Wood midweek shouldn’t be sniffed at as they look for three on the spin at the Shay.

Both sides will want to prove their worth as play-off material which makes for another action packed Saturday afternoon.

One to watch: Billy Waters (FC Halifax Town)
Unibet enhanced odds: Both teams to score and goals over 2.5
