Unibet's National League North And South Preview

By Sam Elliott

Things are really heating up at either end of both the National League North and South tables.

Gateshead and Dorking Wanderers are currently in possession of top spot but with around a third of the season still to go, the finishing line is still some way in the distance.

The race to finish in the top seven - as well as outside the dreaded drop zone - is just as tense. What has Saturday got in store?

Kidderminster Harriers vs AFC Fylde - National League North

James Rowe is back in the dug-out after his time at Chesterfield ended under a cloud - so can he turn the Coasters’ fortunes around?

He couldn’t have asked for a tougher first test with Kidderminster three points above them in the table.

Time is running out for both of these clubs to turn a play-off push into an all out title assault - but never underestimate a surge in the second half of the season.

However, with Harriers losing their last two and Fylde defeated in three of their last five games there’s little wiggle room now.

Ebbsfleet United vs Oxford City - National League South

If recent results and performances are anything to go by, these two teams aren’t willing to give up on the National League South title quite yet.

Ebbsfleet have rediscovered the type of football that had them lodged in the race for first place until mid January.

But with a massive March coming up, the ten point gap could well be closed up - they’ve won two in a row and they want to shoot down a promotion rival this weekend.

Fleet keep their fans guessing, will it be the team who tonked St Albans a few weeks ago or the side easily undone by Havant & Waterlooville?

Oxford City still haven’t appointed a new manager since losing David Oldfield to Weymouth.

Caretaker Ross Jenkins did such a good job he was on Wednesday confirmed as the full-time manager. His team bit back to claim a valuable point at St Albans the night before.

They have taken 19 points from a possible 27 and they are just six points shy of table toppers Dorking and Maidstone United.

It should be another fantastic weekend!
