Under Two Months To Go! The Heat Cranks Up Tonight

By Sam Elliott

There’s now less than two months to go and the room for error is minimal with a full programme tonight bursting with big games.

The leaders Chesterfield - now without a game - were stunned by Bromley’s late bite back on Saturday and next up it’s Dagenham for the second place side, as they look to follow up that thrilled 4-3 victory.

Aldershot Town manager Tommy Widdrington insists he’s not looking at the tables but he’ll know keeping the wins coming is the only way they’ll be sure of a top seven place and Barnet come to the EBB Stadium looking to put a firm hand on a top three place.

Hartlepool United aren’t giving up on the play-offs quite yet and a home victory over Altrincham will get everyone talking as Phil Parkinson challenged his players to put their defeat to the Shots to bed.

There’s a massive game down the bottom as two relegation zone dwellers clash - Ebbsfleet United host Woking and both are just inside.

That means Southend United could find themselves in the bottom four, unless they win at Maidenhead United, who have lost their last three. Two big clubs clash with eyes on different ends of the table when York City host Oldham Athletic.

Gateshead jumped into the top seven with a classy win at Wealdstone - but it lasted a matter of hours. They look for staying power this time when they head to Kidderminster, with Phil Brown not too frustrated they couldn’t extend their winning run against Dorking last time out.

AFC Fylde don’t want to slip into old habits after defeat at the weekend but they won’t have it easy against Solihull Moors.

New Eastleigh manager Kelvin Davies takes charge a day after taking over and he knows the importance of winning at Oxford City with the Spitfires without a win ibn 2024.
