Truro In Positive Mood Heading To Havant

Truro City are in good spirits following Saturday’s victory at Hemel Hempstead Town where they came back from a goal down to take all three points in a 2-1 win.

But they face another tricky away excursion on Tuesday as they head to fourth-placed Havant & Waterlooville.

“There is a lot of positivity around the club at the moment,” admitted Truro manager, Lee Hodges. “We’re playing with plenty of belief and the lads are working their socks off for me.

“We knew it would be difficult on Saturday; Hemel Hempstead are a good side but we went there on the back of a hard-earned win in our previous game and played very well.

“The first half was even but I felt that we lacked a cutting edge; we were trying to play through them and causing ourselves problems as a result.

“We spoke about things at half-time, and even though we went a goal down, we started putting a lot of balls in the box during the second half and it caused them problems.

“We were very much on the front-foot and once we got the equaliser, we looked the most likely side to go on and win the game and even though we had a little bit of good fortune with the winner, it was deserved.

“Our attention now turns to Havant & Waterlooville; it’s a game that we go into with confidence. We’re in a good place at the moment and we have plenty of belief.

“They have made a good start to the season and have scored a lot of goals – they won 4-1 at Weston-super-Mare at the weekend – but it is a challenge that we are looking forward to”.
