Thursday`s Pre-Season Friendly Review...

A round-up of Thursday`s pre-season friendlies.

Vanarama National League new boys Maidstone United wrapped up their pre-season preparations with a 3-0 win over Ryman League Division One South side Faversham Town on Thursday night.

Goals from Dan Sweeney on the half-hour mark, Ben Greenhalgh 4 minutes later and then Dumebi Dumaka right at the end of the match were the Stones` marksmen.

Hallmark Security League side AFC Liverpool and a Tranmere Rovers XI played out an entertaining 2-2 draw at the MTA.

Tom Croughan gave the National League outfit the lead in the 6th minute but the Reds were back on level terms just after the half-hour mark thanks to Emini Adegbenro, who then set up Jason Carey just 2 minutes later to ensure the home side took a lead into the break.

Midway through the second half, Croughan again found the back of the net to make things all square once again, which is how the match finished.

A youthful National League North Kidderminster Harriers side secured another friendly win as they triumphed 2-0 at Evo-Stik Northern Premier League Premier Division Halesowen Town.

Harriers had the lead after 19 minutes when academy graduate Reece Jacobs saw his centre curled home by a triallist.

The visitors extended their lead 6 minutes later when Jacobs forced Callum Williams to turn the ball into his own net.

Harriers` new league rivals Brackley Town beat a young MK Dons side 5-2 at St James`s Park.

A pair of Kabongo Tshimanga goals had put the Dons two goals ahead.

But Brackley pulled the game back to 2-2 through a James Armson penalty and a Lee Ndlovu effort before the end of the first half.

The Saints then scored three second half goals through Steve Diggin with two and an own goal.

National League South side Eastbourne Borough made the very short trip across town to The Saffrons to face Southern Combination League neigbbours Eastbourne Town.

The hosts were reduced to ten-men after just 17 minutes to a straight red card and Sports took immediate advantage with a triallist grabbing the goal.

The second half saw Jamie Taylor grab a brace to extend the visitors` lead in the last 15 minutes.

Boro`s new league rivals Hungerford Town looked impressive in winning 4-0 at Uhlsport Hellenic Leaguers Binfield.

Goals from Matty Day, Luke Williams and James Clark made it 3-0 at the break for the Crusaders.

Harry Goodger netted the only goal of the second half.

Another National League South club, St Albans City, were involved in a seven-goal thriller at Southern Premier Division neighbours Dunstable Town`s Creasey Park.

Matt Ball gave the visitors the lead after 17 minutes.

Shane Bush scored the equaliser in the 33rd minute when a free-kick saw him head beyond Russell.

Ball restored the lead for the visitors on the hour-mark.

The Saints increased their lead still further, with a cracking free-kick just outside the area by Matt Wycherlow.

Ten minutes later, Lewis Wilson converted a penalty to reduce the deficit.

Ten minutes remained and Dunstable held off a number of forays until the last minute when Junior Morias nipped in smartly to restore the Saints lead with what turned out to be the winning goal.
