The National League North And South Title Outlook

By Sam Elliott

Truro City and Kidderminster Harriers are in control of their title destiny and could be confirmed as champions with a final day win next weekend.

The situation is simple for Kidderminster, who will win the National League North if they defeat Southport next Saturday after a day when all the top teams won.

Two goals from Amari Morgan-Smith and Maziar Kouhyar helped the Harriers beat Hereford 5-1 and they can see the finishing line.

Brackley Town are still in it, Connor Hall and Gaz Dean scored in the 2-0 win at Leamington and now they hope for a favour on Merseyside next week. Their goal difference is significantly less, so they need Kiddy to drop points.

Scunthorpe United know they need a lot to go their way now but a 5-0 win over Peterborough Sports sends them into the final day on a high.

Truro City probably have to beat St Albans City at home next week to take the National League South title - and need to match Torquay United’s scoreline.

The Tinners won 2-0 at Weston-super-Mare, Tyler Harvey was at the double - and they are close to creating history.

But Torquay won 3-0 at home to Weymouth, and if they win and score three more goals than Truro when they play Hemel Hempstead, they could pip them at the post.

Truro will play a St Albans side who need to win to stay up - the Saints won 1-0 against Hemel to move level on points with Salisbury, who lost 1-0 against Eastbourne Borough. Michael Klass got the only goal.

Truro know they are very likely to need a win as the most entertaining league anywhere keeps everyone on their toes.

Worthing and Dorking Wanderers will need Truro and Torquay to lose to have a chance after they drew 1-1.

Eastbourne are third, just a point behind Truro and Torquay. They need to win at home to Weston next week and hope the other two drop points to stand a chance of being champions.

What a final day it is going to be!
