The FA Cup Weekend Is Jam Packed Full Of Eye-Catching Ties

By Sam Elliott

The FA Cup falls into focus again this weekend - and a game with an EFL big boy will be one step nearer for many.

The draw for the third qualifying round threw up some super ties and the wait is over on Saturday as things start to get serious.

The National League North and South sides fly the flag before they have company in Monday’s draw - so who’s got a big chance of getting through?

Radcliffe joint manager Anthony Johnson has a bit of a problem ahead of his side’s game - he has to send the club he’s loved all his life packing.

His team meet Bury and he tweeted: “I’m getting to manage our team against the club I’ve supported my whole life. Absolute dream of a tie.”

He has a special reason to make sure Radcliffe, pictured, win through as they mark the passing of much loved chairman Paul Hilton.

Boreham Wood fancy another FA Cup run under returning manager Luke Garrard and Larkhall Athletic are next as they look for a repeat of the incredible season which saw the club go on to meet Everton after beating AFC Bournemouth.

Maidstone United know how special the competition is and they have to get through a tough Kent derby with Herne Bay.

Kidderminster Harriers have some wonderful recent FA Cup memories. It was only a few years ago they came so close to sending West Ham packing, and tomorrow they are on the road at Buxton.

A trip to Guiseley awaits Scunthorpe United while Salisbury host Bath City in a big west country clash. It’s not the only one as Chippenham Town and Weston-super-Mare clash.

Ramsgate had a great run last year and Brackley Town hope they won't have another after being paired together. A game at Worksop Town won't be relished by King’s Lynn Town with Leamington also facing a trip to Harborough Town.

Southport meet Curzon Ashton in an all-National League North encounter and it’s the same story as strong at home Spennymoor Town face Chorley.

The tie between Wythenshawe Town and Farsley Celtic will be available to watch live on the BBC and can be streamed via iPlayer and the red button, as well as on the BBC Sport website.

The prize money on offer is £5,625, with £1,875 handed to the sides defeated in the next round
