The Eliminators Start With Two Incredible Finishes

By Sam Elliott

It was a dramatic opening to the National League play-offs as the Eliminators kicked off in style.

Boreham Wood go through at the expense of Dorking Wanderers after a stunning late comeback in a bonkers first match in the National League South.

It was a night Femi Ilesanmi will never forget and one that looked like it would cast a shadow over him summer after his two own goals put Dorking 3-1 up.

But Wood staged an epic recovery and Cameron Cox thought he had forced extra time but defender Ilesanmi had other ideas - bending a beautiful shot into the top corner to raise the roof.

Luke Garrard’s side now make the trip to runners-up Torquay United.

Chorley take their place in the National League North semi finals after a late win over King’s Lynn Town.

Free-scoring defender Mark Ellis was the man of the moment again and they will travel to Scunthorpe United this weekend.

There was one National League game and Rochdale as they confirmed a home play-off Eliminator.

Veteran Ian Henderson scored the only goal as Dale beat Solihull Moors 1-0.
