The Spitfires' boss has revealed that current stopper Max Stryjek will return to Sunderland when his loan expires this week due to homesickness.
“Saturday will be Max’s last game for the club," Strevens told the Southern Daily Echo. “The rules mean we couldn’t extend his loan before January even if we wanted to, but Max doesn’t want to stay.
"It’s nothing to do with the club, he’s been struggling with homesickness for the last month.
“Max has been brilliant for us and he has a great future in the game, but he’s not been himself these last few weeks.
"His girlfriend’s up north and he’s been given permission by Sunderland to go home and see his family in Poland over Christmas.
“Whoever we bring in will hopefully stay with us for the rest of the season, I don’t want to be chopping and changing goalkeepers all the time.
"I want to keep a settled side," he added.
