Saunders Says 50 Is The Magic Number This Season

Maidstone United boss Jay Saunders believes that 50 points will be enough to ensure survival for his side.

The Stones are currently on 47 points, with three games to go, writes Tom Feaheny.

They are next up against AFC Fylde with a three points gap on safety.

"50 points is the mark, I think that'll be enough for us, a win out of the four should see us safe," Saunders said.

"When you look at the league some teams below are going to face each other so some will drop points there, we just want to secure safety as soon as we can."

On their recent games including a loss against Solihull Moors and a draw at Guiseley, Saunders has reflected on what might have been.

"We had enough chances to win the game against Guiseley, I was a bit frustrated with the result.

"There were good areas we got in, hit the crossbar twice, it is the story of our season, in not taking our chances.

"Against Solihull we weren't good enough but again we aren't getting the goals at the moment."
