Pre-Season In Full Swing As Players Get Back To It

The season might have only finished 43 days ago but some of our teams are already back in training for the new campaign.

With next week's Wednesday July 3 fixture release day fast approaching, the new season kicks off in just 40 days on Saturday August 3.

Chester are being touted as one of the favourites for the National League North title this season.

"Make sure you get your season tickets, this year is going to be a good year," midfielder Gary Stopforth said as the Blues got their preparations underway.

Craig Hignett is determined to get his Hartlepool United squad firing on all cylinders as quickly as possible.

As the Pools head back to work ahead of their third season in the National League, he the Hartlepool Mail: “We’ll make sure that come the first day of the season everyone will be flying and ready to go.”

Wrexham boss Bryan Hughes teased yet more signings as he welcomed his players back.

"It’s buzzing in the changing rooms this morning. It’s really good to have the players back in," he told the club's Twitter this morning.

"I expect there will be a few more players to come in to add to what we have."

Curzon Ashton aren't wasting any time. Mark Bradshaw announced his excitement on his personal Twitter last week.

"Feel like a child on Xmas Eve, first day with the players tomorrow," he said ahead of the Nash's first day back last Tuesday.

Lee Clark has plenty of new players to keep his eye on as a new look Blyth Spartans reported back yesterday.

Boston United players returned on Saturday morning and were put through their paces by boss Craig Elliott and his new assistant John McDermott.

And finally, it's not all training ground work. Alfreton Town kick-off their pre-season schedule with the visit of Nottingham Forest this weekend.
