Powell Joins Seagulls

By Steve Whitney

Vanarama National League South club Weston-super-Mare have announced that Lewis Powell signed contract forms with the Seagulls.

He said he was excited about joining a big club with a great setup like Weston. He has ambitions to ultimately play in the Football League and is really looking forward to the season and new challenges ahead.

Powell is already familiar with a number of the current squad, including Kane Ingram, Ben Withey, Syd Camper and Tristan Plummer. Last term Poswell played for Yate Town under-18s and featured in quite a few first-team games, showing real promise and scoring goals.

Head coach Ryan Northmore said: “Lewis is a young player with plenty of potential. He performed well in the Southern League last season and we want to bring him along like we have with other young players.

“I still plan on bringing in another striker but I don’t expect anything to materialise until preseason is underway and even then I will only move for a player I feel fits our profile”.
