Pools Fans Get Big Boost Ahead Of Annual Dress Up!

A real crisis has been averted - many Hartlepool United fans now won’t miss out of their end-of-season dress up!

It’s tradition at the Pools that an away match in the campaign’s final month sees them all slap on the make up or find a wig to go en masse to sign off the season in style.

In the past ten years they have gone as mimes, Smurfs, penguins, Thunderbirds, Oompa Loompas and even Bob Marley.

This year’s chosen match is Barrow at Holker Street - but there was a big problem as their weird and wonderful late-season party heads for the north west.

The 650 tickets available were snapped up super quick leaving many facing disappointment.

Thankfully, the Bluebirds came to the rescue and another 500 tickets have been made available to the supporters desperate to attend in fancy dress.

Now there’s just one big hurdle for the fans to overcome - what they’re going as, with no official announcement yet made.

A Pools statement read: "In order to assist with the release of more tickets, Pools have agreed to provide Barrow with some of our own stewards to help with the safety operation on the day of the game.

"The extra 500 tickets are on sale now via Barrow’s Online Ticket Website on a first come, first served basis.

"This will take Pools' overall allocation up to 1,125 though there will be no further tickets made available to Pools fans once they have been sold.”
