Plenty of Ins & Outs at Lowestoft

There has been a lot of movement this week on the player front at Vanarama National League North club Lowestoft Town.

Former Cambridge United and Luton defender Dan Gleeson has been released from his contract and has now signed to play for Evo-Stik League Southern Premier Division side Cambridge City.

Speaking about the departure of Gleeson, manager Ady Gallagher said: "I would like to thank Dan Gleeson for everything he's done during his time with us and to recognise the big part he played in bringing the level of football we now have at Crown Meadow, by captaining the side and winning us promotion to the Conference."

The club have also released goalkeeper Marcus Garnham from his contract.

Gallagher said: "He's a hardworking and honest lad but it just simply hasn't worked out for him with us but we wish him all the best for the future and good luck to him/"

Scott Mitchell (pictured) will be playing his last game for Lowestoft on Tuesday night in the Suffolk Premier Cup.

This is following a promotion at Ipswich Town which means he can no longer commit to this level of football and the travelling that also comes with it.

Mitchell will be retained as part of the playing staff, should a situation arise in which he can play for the Trawlerboys.

Mitchell said: "It has been a brief second spell at the club for me but a promotion at Portman Road has meant that I just can't commit myself to the required level anymore.

“It`s a sad occasion for me from a playing point of view but I would like to thank the supporters and the club for my two spells over the years. I'm happy to be ending my career at a club that I have always loved and always will."

And as reported yesterday, Wolverhampton Wanderers` under-21 goalkeeper Harry Burgoyne has enjoyed his spell with the club so far and his loan spell has now been extended until 21st November.
