Peers Become a Loan Pitman Again

Bernard McNally, manager of Vanarama National League North club...

....Hednesford Town, has moved to bolster his attacking options after signing striker Tom Peers on a month’s loan from National League side Chester FC.

The striker arrives at Keys Park for a second spell after scoring three times during a stay at the club from August to October last season.

Peers joins the club in time for tomorrow’s trip to Gainsborough Trinity and will stay at Keys Park up and including Saturday, 9th January, with him also been granted permission to play in the Staffordshire Senior Cup tie against Stafford Rangers.

After coming through the Chester system, Peers signed first-team forms with the club in the summer of 2013.

He was allowed to join Evo-Stik Northern Premier League side Witton Albion on loan a month later to gain valuable experience, but made only two substitute appearances for Albion before returning to the Deva Stadium.

Peers was then allowed to join Witton's local North West Counties League rivals 1874 Northwich on a dual registration deal.

The frontman enjoyed an excellent spell at Northwich, scoring 4 goals in five starts in his month's loan there before once again returning to Chester.

He was offered an extended deal by Neil Young in November 2013, signing up Peers on a deal until he end of the season.

Towards the end of that campaign he was given a run in the side, making two starts.

After finishing his first spell with the Pitmen, Peers spent time with Marine AFC last season and this campaign has seen him score once in seven games for Chester in the National League while he also netted once in three games while on loan at Salford City before returning to his parent club last week.
