One Month In: Fullarton Reflects On His Time So Far As Shaymen Boss

FC Halifax Town boss Jamie Fullarton took the job just over a month ago and says the progress made already is clear to see.

On Saturday at the Shay, Fullarton arrived after full-time in the tunnel at The Shay with a smile on his face, while it may not have been a win, he had again seen exactly what he wanted and that was the progress being made, writes Tom Feaheny.

The Shaymen since announcing Fullarton's arrival have won three and drawn three games, moving clearer of the drop zone in the process.

"In the space of a month, I think everyone can see what ideas I have and how we are trying to implement them, while also ensuring we stay up as well," Fullarton said.

"We have drawn our last two and had chances against Solihull and were disappointed to be going to an away game, a local derby at Guiseley in bad conditions and gaining a point that sums up how much progress has been made in just a month.

"We have something we can build on, I'm delighted with what I have seen, all the players are listening to me, they know what I expect and keep delivering."

Since coming in he has overseen wins against Woking and Dag & Red, while draws against Eastleigh, Guiseley and Solihull Moors have also helped them pick up vital points.

Fullarton wasn't in charge of the win against Hartlepool United, he said that game helped him develop an idea of the task at hand.

"Watching the game from the stands, is something I wanted to do, to see how the players reacted, I was in the dressing room before the game and I was pleased with what I saw."

Fullarton before this role had coached the under 21's at Bolton Wanderers and been the boss at Notts County, he says his time with the latter is something he can use.

"My time at Notts County really built me, it was a real learning experience for me.

"I believe that I can take things from my time there, there will be moments in this role that I can look back and use what I learnt."

Fullarton says that his initial aim is simple and clear.

"I can talk about the vision, the ideas, the future but I can't let it detract me from where we are right now, I want to stay in this league that is the only aim for now, until we are mathematically there I won't stop thinking about it.

"After that, then we can look at a lot of different things and see what we need to do going forward."
