One in - one out at Telford

Midfielder Tom Thorley is edging towards the exit door at Vanarama National League North club AFC Telford United after agreeing to pay to terminate his own contract.

The midfielder spoke to manager Steve Kittrick and managing director Lee Carter about five weeks ago to express his view that signing for Telford was impacting upon his lifestyle and that he was finding the travelling from Walsall difficult.

The manager tried to find a compromise with Thorley, including allowing him to train only once per week. However, after returning from a holiday last week Thorley expressed his desire to leave.

He has made it clear that his only reason for leaving is the impact of travelling to Telford might have on his lifestyle.

After a week of negotiations with the managing director the club have accepted a cash offer from the player to terminate his contract which was not due to start until 8th August.

Meanwhile, defender Jack Deaman has joined United on a six-month loan deal from National League new boys Cheltenham Town.

The 22-year-old also had interest from Dover Athletic, turning out for them on Saturday, but he appeared for Telford on Monday night's 1-0 friendly win over Market Drayton Town.

Former Birmingham City youngster Deaman made twenty-three appearances for the Robins last season after arriving in the summer.
