One Defeat Won't Change Garrard's Faith In Wood Squad

Luke Garrard has made it clear that one defeat won’t get him questioning his Boreham Wood squad.

The Wood suffered their first away defeat since September on Saturday as they went down to fellow promotion hopefuls Aldershot Town.

Garrard admitted his side deserved to lose the game but says he won’t be over-reacting with six points still separating them and eighth-placed AFC Fylde.

Wood will be hoping to return to winning ways at home against Barrow on Friday before an important trip to Wrexham.

“It’s our first defeat away from home since September coming up against a very good team,” Garrard told the club’s YouTube channel.

“On the day, they were better than us. We couldn’t get to grips with their movement and it was frustrating.

“Does it define us? Not at all. Did we not give effort? Not at all. We just came up against a side that gave us a backlash.

“We need to have a good week now and the focus turns to Barrow. I have every faith in the squad and what we’re trying to do.”
