No Sorrow Stories! Hemel Told Regrets Won't Work Tonight

Dean Brennan doesn’t want his players to leave the Vauxhall Road pitch tonight with a single regret.

Hemel Hempstead host Braintree Town this evening as the Vanarama National League South play-offs get under way.

The Tudors boss knows the pressure is on with home advantage this evening and he isn’t keen on their season ending by 9.45pm.

Having won promotion from the Southern League with the club he “sees no reason why” they can’t take the next step.

But he is fully aware that the Iron will be formidable opponents and come into the game having earned a top seven finish with a fine 3-0 win over Gloucester City.

“It’s the most exciting time of the year and both ourselves and Braintree have managed to have good seasons to achieve getting to the play-offs,” he told us this morning.

“We are both in good form so we know it’s gonna be a tough match. It’s cut-throat cup football from now on in and you live and die by 90 minutes.

“Everyone at the football club is looking forward to the game, especially the players. They are ready.

“It’s important the players do what they are at good at. If we do we have have a great chance as I have huge believe in this group. We know what we have got to do. Everyone needs to be at their maximum.

“We know the rewards, our motivation is strong and we must perform with no regrets.”
