New League, But No New Faces Doesn't Concern Vermiglio

Chorley manager Jamie Vermiglio refuses to be rushed into doing deals this summer.

So far the National League North Promotion Final winners have yet to sign a new player.

Manager Vermiglio isn’t struggling to lure fresh faces to Victory Park - he is just happy playing the waiting game.

In an interview of the club’s social media video service, the Magpies boss has stressed he won’t sign just for the sake of it.

“It’s going really well - we’ve not got anything announced as yet but we’re close,” he said.

“I have got an agreement with one player who is ready to come in and we’re close with a few others but I want to make sure we get the absolute right people.

“There’s a lot of time and effort going in to do the due diligence to make sure we’re getting things right.

“We have a bit of time, you can really do your homework and hopefully we will get in the right people who can push us on.

“I’m already happy with the squad I’ve got. The players we bring in need to be quality, experienced and know the level.”

He added: “There are some huge clubs in this league next season and we’re all really excited.

“Wrexham, Chesterfield, Notts County - and the likes of Stockport County who we played last year. It’s the type of challenge you want.”
