National League's March Monthly Award Winners Revealed!

By Sam Elliott

We have officially entered the business end of the season – and the cream of the National League crop are really starting to rise.

So it’s high time we rewarded some of the headline makers who enjoyed a magical March.

We are delighted to present the division’s Manager, Player and the Vanarama Volunteer of the Month following an action-packed four weeks of action.

When James Rowe arrived at Chesterfield in late November the club were sitting in the relegation places and concerned about not being a National League club next season.

Now, firmly rooted in the play-off places, there’s a genuine chance they won’t be... for an altogether different reason!

It was a great March for the club, a month when things suddenly got real.

The Spireites beat Eastleigh, Yeovil, Barnet, Aldershot, Weymouth - and didn’t let in a goal in any of those victories. The club’s fans have fallen for their new manager already.

Dagenham & Redbridge manager Daryl McMahon rates Angelo Balanta as one of the best forwards outside of the EFL.

He’s not just paying lip-service to it in an attempt to fill his forward’s boots with some extra ammunition, either.

Balanta was brilliant last month as the Daggers beat Solihull, Maidenhead, Altrincham and title chasing Torquay, where he got the winner. He scored two against Boreham Wood as well as is our deserved Player of the Month for March.

We love the Vanarama Volunteer of the Month Award as those who give up their time are rightly acknowledged.

Andy Stokes’ passion for Notts County is well-known and during Covid times he has really stepped up to the plate.

He’s a man of many skills too, offering his time as one of the club’s photographers for a number of years.

He has also jumped in to help as this season’s PA announcer, as well as supporting the club’s media team.

He really puts in the hours every single week, and it’s all for the love of the Magpies.

Congratulations to all our fantastic winners!
