National League South: Complete Weekend Preview

After the gap was closed on Tuesday night, everyone is talking about the title race - and who’s to say how many teams are actually involved!

Dorking Wanderers’ advantage is down to one point after three of the chasers won in midweek. The leaders face a Chelmsford City side with a new manager to impress after Angelo Harrop’s appointment on Monday, and he will have a watching brief until the summer.

Worthing are rising, up to second now but manager Chris Agutter says Chesham United will make life very difficult for his team this weekend.

Truro City are top of the form guide and fancy their chances of going back to the top of the table for the first time since November.

Welling United head to Cornwall with their own agenda at the other end, as Eastbourne Borough are back in front of their fans - they’re the only side undefeated at home and Chippenham Town are looking to create a headline at Priory Lane.

Boreham Wood will be pleased they’re at Meadow Park again. They won their last two at home and Aveley travel to Hertfordshire having lost nine of their last ten away from home.

Torquay United ended their rotten away run in midweek with a fine victory at Chippenham but they need to keep them coming if they want first place. A trip to Tonbridge Angels awaits on Saturday.

Hornchurch have won their last three in front of their own fans, and they could make Maidstone United’s title challenge improbable with another.

Elsewhere, Weston-super-Mare play Bath City, as St Albans City and Weymouth both need a win with time ticking down.

It’s a battle of the big names when Hampton & Richmond take on Hemel Hempstead Town at the Beveree with Farnborough requiring three points if they’re going to keep their play-off hopes alive, they make the short trip to Slough Town.
