National League North 'Is About To Get Even Harder'

Paul Caddis is convinced the National League North will be even harder next season.

The Hereford manager thinks things are about to become even more demanding but says he is up for the challenge of another promotion push.

It was final day heartache the Bulls after defeat to Scunthorpe United meant their season didn’t go into May.

Despite the agony, it was another season of progress after claiming 76 points - seven more than they did under the Scot in 2023/24.

He says things will be even more challenging next season but knows Hereford are very much heading in the right direction.

“I’m devastated that we couldn’t quite make it, for the fans and for the players,” he said. “They couldn’t have given us any more.

“We bettered last season’s points total but it doesn’t feel like it now. Next year is going to be even tougher with more full-time teams.

“It is very difficult to compete as a part time side in the National League North now, we’re well aware of that. We’re still in recovery mode as a club, we’re proud of that.”

Crowds are up as well as the points haul - and so were the sold out signs the Edgar Street.

“To finish the season in the highest place the club has finished and to have improved two seasons in a row - we’ve had people believing,” Caddis went on.

“We’re selling out matches, and that’s a mark of where we’re at. We’ve got to be ready to rebuild after we’ve looked back and tried to find out where we can get better, and where I can get better as a manager.”
