More Big Deals Are Done As Pre-Season Gets Underway

As most of the players return to the grind of pre-season training, their managers have been running after their transfer targets.

There is five weeks to go until the big kick-off and squads are already starting to take shape.

And this could be a first - a player singing via Instagram!

Marcus Maddison has joined National League North Darlington - after saying he approached the club on the social media platform.

"I was thinking 'I want to go up north'," the 28-year-old told the BBC. "So I went on my phone and looked at the teams I could potentially play for.

"I messaged Darlington on Instagram, sending them my number and saying I'd be interested.

"I got a call the next day and as soon as we spoke, this was where I wanted to be.”

York City have signed Grimsby Town's promotion-winning pair Adam Crookes and Scott Burgess.

They aren’t the only ones getting fans excited - Lenell John-Lewis has signed permanently as says he was 'always' going to return to the club after his incredible loan spell.

Gary Johnson had a strong end to the week and is investing in youth, Torquay United have signed two released Ipswich Town youngsters.

Ebbsfleet United have made three big signings with former Gillingham and AFC Wimbledon right-back Luke O’Neill joining alongside big defender Haydn Hollis.

Omari Sterling-James has also agreed a move from National League North club Kidderminster Harriers.

But deperating is Alfie Egan, the midfielder has stepped up to the National League with Boreham Wood, who have also signed right back Dion Kelly-Evans.

Gloucester City have confirmed the signing of forward Tre Mitford from Brackley Town.

AFC Fylde have made summer signing number six with the return of former loanee Tom Walker to Mill Farm on a permanent basis.

Barnet have moved Harry Pritchard, 29, after his release from Eastleigh.
