Moors The Merrier As Slick Solihull Sink Chesterfield

By Sam Elliott

Solihull Moors powered through to the National League Promotion final after coming from behind the break Chesterfield hearts.

Moors, defeated just once since early January, turned on the style and had far too much for Paul Cook’s team in the semi-final.

Solihull are one game away from becoming an EFL club for the first time in their history after another composed display.

They face Grimsby Town at the London Stadium on Sunday in the club’s biggest ever game.

There was false hope for the travelling fans when Joe Quigley slotted the Spireites in front in the eighth minute. The joy didn’t last long.

Deadly Andrew Dallas levelled soon after before Alex Gudger poked home ten minutes before half-time.

On the hour mark, the game was essentially made safe.

Callum Howe’s inch-perfect header put the London Stadium firmly in sight.

The watching Paul Hurst will be worried - his Grimsby side have quite a job on next weekend.

Dowson The Dart! Alan Named New Princes Park Boss Alan Dowson is back in football with Dartford as he was tonight announced as the club’s new manager.
