Moors Inch Closer To Safety But Yates Warns Job Isn't Done

Mark Yates has warned his Solihull Moors side aren’t safe just yet - but knows they have taken a huge step towards securing their status with another big win.

Moors beat bottom club Guiseley on Saturday to take them up to 50 points and six clear of fourth-bottom Barrow.

Woking would have to win both of their remaining fixtures to overtake Solihull so safety isn’t confirmed just yet.

But a run of three straight wins, and eight games unbeaten, have put the Moors on the brink of securing their National League status for another season.

“We bossed the game,” Yates told the club’s website after the 3-1 success against Guiseley.

“They’ve come here and we knew it was going to be a game where we had to show a bit of quality.

“In the last few games, we could’ve won 5-0. It doesn’t worry me about scores. The situation we’re in is about winning games.

“It’s another one chalked off and it’s up to 50 points now. We’re still not safe, we know that.

“If we keep doing what we’re doing then we’re not going to make it easy for anybody to overtake us.”
