Minstermen Pick Up Wharton

York City have signed young midfielder Theo Wharton on a one-year deal.
The 22-year-old former Cardiff City and Wales under-17, 19 and under-21 midfielder also has experience of sixth tier football with a short spell at Weston-super-Mare in the National League South last season.
Wharton signed pro terms with Cardiff in 2012, but he made only one senior appearances for the Sky Bet Championship outfit, in the Emirates FA Cup against Macclesfield Town in January 2013.
The Welsh-born box-to-box midfielder has also been capped at international level by St Kitts & Nevis.
