McGregor Adds Strength To Squad Ahead Of Play-Off Push

Weston-super-Mare head coach Marc McGregor has taken the opportunity to add strength to the squad with his sights still on a top seven place and with a place in the promotion play-offs.

Kenan Dunnwald has extended his time at the Woodspring Stadium for a further month.

Since joining the Seagulls at the start of February, Dunnwald has started five games for the club, notching up two assists in his opening two games and netting his first senior goal in English football in Weston’s last fixture, a 1-2 win away at Eastbourne Borough.

Additionally, Dunnwald will be joined by fellow Pirate Mo Baghdadi.

Baghdadi (pictured) is a German winger, who joined Bristol Rovers in their development squad shake-up last summer, signing from Eintracht Braunschweig.

Earlier this season, he joined Dorchester Town on loan, scoring 7 goals in fourteen games for the Dorset outfit.

In January, the 21-year-old left winger signed for fellow National League South side Poole Town on a two-month loan deal, featuring seven times, claiming one goal and one assist in that period.

Baghdadi is also capable at filling in at left-back but is primarily a left-sided winger.

Baghdadi told the club`s official website: “I am really happy to be joining the Seagulls for this month-long loan spell. I like the style of football that the gaffer has them playing and I look forward to contributing towards their efforts in the National League South.”

Aaron Parsons has also committed to the club to remain on loan for the duration of the season, and including the play-off matches, should Weston finish in seventh position or better.

The young defender, on loan from Bristol City, replaced Harvey Smith at the end of January.

To date he has started six times for Weston, along with making one appearance from the bench, and has featured in three wins, three losses and one draw so far.

McGregor added: “It is great to add numbers to our squad as we are a little low currently, but we are pleased with the quality that we have within the group, although with the final run in to the end of the season upon us we can always look to improve to try and reach our targets”.
