LV BET Preview: Harrogate Town Listed as Play-Off Favourites

By Oliver Osborn

Official betting partner of The National League, LV BET, have listed Harrogate Town as favourites for promotion following their second-place position and bye into the play-off semi-finals.

Harrogate will be at home in the semi-finals and, with a fantastic home record of 12 wins from 19 home games, they can make home advantage count and progress to Wembley.

They’re likely to face Notts County who were on a good run when the National League was halted.

After a mixed start to the season, the Magpies were in great form in the early months of the year and will look to continue that when they host their semi-final match. Neal Ardley will have his squad raring to go when they face Yeovil Town or Barnet on July 25th.

Looking at the teams in the Vanarama Eliminators, Boreham Wood will fancy their chances of going one better than 2018, having already beaten FC Halifax Town earlier on in the season and ending the regular season as an in-form side. They won’t fear a road trip in the semi-finals.

Yeovil are hoping to bounce back to the Football League at the first attempt and will need to be at their best to make it past Barnet before heading back to Wembley for the first time since 2013.

It promises to be a fascinating set of play-off matches. With no form to go on, all the clubs need to hit the ground running from the off as there are no second chances.

Could we be in for one of the underdogs making it to Wembley and getting promoted? Barnet and Halifax will hope so.
