Lions Yet To Roar But Bignot Says First Win Is Getting Closer

Guiseley joint manager Marcus Bignot thinks getting all areas of the field performing together holds the key to securing their first win.

The Lions have yet to win but have drawn their last three.

Their latest point was a well earned late draw at Leamington in a match which ended 2-2. You can watch match highlights here.

Bignot can sense improvement and wants that first victory to come over the Bank Holiday weekend.

“Three points from five games isn’t what we wanted but we are seeing progress,” he said.

“We need all three units of the pitch to come together at the same time.

“I am pleased with the players but when the frontline have done well, maybe the defence has made mistakes.

“When the midfield is clicking maybe the forwards haven’t been. That’s probably the issue so far.

“But we are getting there. We’re showing improvement and we are going in the right direction.

“We now have Nuneaton next. We’ve got time for the players who we have had out to come back. The reality is that we only have three points from five games and we wanted more than that.

“But we are thee games unbeaten and we now have a Bank Holiday double header coming up where we can hopefully get that first win on the board.”
