Kevin Give Us A Progress Report From His Solo Trip

By Sam Elliott

Kevin Webber's is on the road and on track on day two of his epic adventure.

The fearless football fan - told in 2014 was likely to have two years left to live - is doing a grand tour on National League clubs in the north.

He is raising awareness for Prostate Cancer UK and the 53-year-old has a big week ahead.

Sunday went smoothy and today he was back at it after leaving Gateshead's International Stadium at 8am.

He is due at Hartlepool United - the favourite ground of fellow campaigner Jeff Stelling later tonight.

Kevin said: "It's been a good start but there's a long way to go! The support has been fantastic and I have been able to pass on our captain's arm band to Josh, Gateshead's number one fan. More about that later in the week."

He started his mission at Blyth Spartans on Sunday before arriving at Gateshead at 6pm yesterday. Then it’s off to friend Jeff Stelling’s Hartlepool United as Tuesday sees him head to Darlington via Spennymoor.

Wednesday is the 32 mile walk to York City before getting to Harrogate Town. From there he goes to Guiseley before Bradford Park Avenue.

Then it’s final stop FC Halifax for their live BT Sport game with Chesterfield where he will enjoy a well-earned beer at the Shay.
