Jenkins Goes As Boreham Wood Make Big Decision

Boreham Wood have tonight sacked Ross Jenkins with the manager just weeks into the job.

The club has earned 12 points from their opening eight games in the National League South and sit in tenth position.

Wood are winless in four but have only been defeated twice this season, at Salisbury and at home to Worthing earlier this month.

Jenkins, 33, arrived in June after making the decision to step down at Oxford City.

He replaced long-serving Luke Garrard at Meadow Park and spoke this summer of his ambition to help return the club to the National League following relegation in April.

But chairman Danny Hunter wants to go in another direction and will begin his hunt for Jenkins’ successor immediately.

The club are yet to announce who will take charge of this weekend’s FA Cup second qualifying match against Eastbourne Borough.

A statement read: “Boreham Wood Football Club can confirm that the Club has parted company with Head Coach Ross Jenkins with immediate effect.

“Everyone at the club would like to thank Ross for his efforts during his time at Meadow Park and wish him the best of luck for the future.”
