It's Friendly Fire! Saturday's Pre Season Review

We are less than a month away from next season but football returned with a bang on Saturday afternoon with a packed schedule of friendlies.

Darlington handed debuts to eight new signings before going down 3-0 to Scottish side Motherwell.

Speaking of debuts, Boreham Wood shared six goals with Arsenal with Piero Mingoia, Adam McDonnell and Tyrone Marsh all on the scoresheet.

Luke Molyneux scored the pick of the goals as Hartlepool United overcame Shildon 6-0.

Billy Knott opened the scoring as Chelmsford put seven past AFC Sudbury without reply.

Chester suffered a 7-1 defeat to Wigan Athletic while Leamington slipped to a 4-0 loss to League One Coventry City.

New signing Rhys Murphy bagged a brace for Yeovil in their 2-0 win over Stratford Town.

Fellow National League new boys Notts County won 2-0 against recently relegated Nuneaton Borough.

Stockport County put eight past Cheadle Heath Nomads - Frank Mulhern with a brace on Saturday afternoon.

Maidstone were held to a 1-1 draw with Herne Bay, Bromley played out a goalless draw with Fulham and nothing could separate Eastleigh and Blackfield & Langley.

Morgan Brough scored with a back-heel finish to snatch a late win for Alfreton Town against Walsall.

Conor Branson introduced himself to Altrincham fans with the only goal against Alport.

Guiseley lost 2-0 against Bradford City while National League North rivals Farsley Celtic beat Brighouse 3-1.

St Albans won 2-1 against Haringey Borough and Tom Richardson's brace bagged a 3-0 win for Braintree over Newmarket Town.

Ex-Iron boss Danny Searle guided his new Aldershot side to a comfortable 3-0 victory over Bradshot Lea.

Concord Rangers went down 4-0 to Championship side Millwall while Barrow narrowly lost to Blackburn Rovers.

Paul McCallum was on the scoresheet for Solihull Moors who won at Halesowen Town and National League new boys Chorley beat Charnock Richard 2-1.

Bradford (Park Avenue) were held by Hemsworth Miners Welfare while Hampton & Richmond slipped to a 2-1 defeat at home to Harrow.

Dorking continued their preparations for their National League South debut with a 2-1 win over East Grinstead.

Five goals were shared as Dover narrowly overcame Folkestone.

Hereford were rampant against Wellington with a brace from Rowan Liburd helping them on their way to a 4-0 win.

Havant & Waterlooville got their pre-season underway with a 2-0 win over Arlebury Park.

Welling were held 1-1 by Margate.
