It's A Signing Spree! Managers Get Busy As Deals Are Done

By Sam Elliott

Squads are really starting to take shape as managers up and down the country go into recruitment overdrive ahead of the new campaign.

Boston United have pulled off a big transfer coup after snaring Jordan Burrow following his departure from York City.

He scored 15 National League North goals last term and the Pilgrims have pick him to lead their attack in the club's new stadium next term.

But Steve Watson has been quick to replace him with FC Halifax’s Jack Redshaw joining up.

Former Wrexham loan defender Kieran Kennedy has meanwhile joined the Minstermen, along with Michael Duckworth.

Stockport County have done another deal - winger Jordan Williams joins from AFC Fylde for an undisclosed fee.

Eastleigh have had a busy week with three new players putting pen to paper.

Goalkeeper Joe McDonnell, who ended last season at Notts County, comes on board - alongside Reading strike Ben House and Northern Ireland U21 international defender Pierce Bird.

John Goddard is back at Woking - four years after leaving for the Football League. Connor Hall has also agreed terms.

But Alan Dowson must tackle next season without towering central defender Moussa Diarra, after Havant & Waterlooville’s impressive summer recruitment drive continues.

The Cards have also lost Jake Hyde - FC Halifax have their man after getting their hands on the player manager Peter Wild called “a Football League striker playing in the National League”.

National League newcomers Altrincham have signed Yusifu Ceesay and Richie Sutton as they prepare for the step up.

Yeovil Town have announced the signing of defender Josh Staunton, 24, from Halifax.

He told their website: “I’m really excited. It’s been a long time without real football.

“Getting back in amongst a dressing room and getting ready for the season, it can’t come soon enough!”

National League Promotion Final winners Harrogate have signed midfielder Tom Walker from AFC Fylde after triggering a release clause in his contract.

Boreham Wood have completed the signing of Hartlepool midfielder Gus Mafuta.

Chelmsford City have announced the signing of experienced Dover goalkeeper Lee Worgan.

Luke Wanadio will be wearing the blue of Billericay Town next season after Jamie O’Hara secured the services of the rapid winger.

He will be joined in Essex by Shamir Fenelon and defender Lewis Knight at New Lodge.

Hemel Hempstead’s new manager Lee Bircham has been busy this summer - Wealdstone full-back Ryan Sellers is a signing with a winners’ medal around his neck.

Guiseley have a new attacker. Matty Gillam will lead the line following his release from Rochdale.

Also, goalkeeper Steve Drench is now a Farsley Celtic player.
