Injury Blow For City`s Summer Signing

Oxford City have suffered a blow with the news that prolific marksman Justin Bennett, who signed for the club in the summer, has been ruled out for the season.

Bennett scored 40 goals in all competitions last season for Salisbury FC in the Evo-Stik League South West, and has regularly scored goals at this level, scoring 30-plus goals for Gosport Borough in several seasons between 2011/12 and 2015/16.

Bennett has been ruled out with a ruptured Anterior Cruciate ligament injury.

He picked up the injury in the final pre-season friendly at home against Brackley Town, but did make a 15-minute cameo appearance two weeks ago at home to Braintree Town.
