Home Comforts Will Be Key For Battling Brakes

Boss Paul Holleran knows his Leamington side need to make their Phillips 66 Community Stadium a fortress if they are to remain in the National League North.

The Brakes picked up a priceless three points on Tuesday night as they comfortably beat second-bottom side Gainsborough Trinity.

Leamington have another big home game this Saturday when they host third-bottom Darlington.

Holleran’s men could potentially go seven points clear of the relegation zone with another victory and the boss knows how important home games will be.

“As much as a manager you try and keep everybody calm and in control, we did look a bit edgy against Gainsborough - everybody feels it,” Holleran told the club’s YouTube channel.

“Everybody in the bottom half of the division is in a relegation battle. At the moment it could be any one of ten teams.

“Every win is hard work. We needed a really gritty, determined performance and we got it.

“We knew that having a few home games would help. Our results at home in the first-half of the season were so disappointing but now we’re getting it right. We’re making it a tough place to come like we always have done.”
